Peter M. McIsaac is Director of the Candian Centre for German and European Studies and Assistant Professor of German Studies in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics at York University. His research focuses on modern German literature and culture, museum studies, and science and technology studies. His publications include Museums of the Mind: German Modernity and the Dynamics of Collecting (Penn State, 2007), and, as co-editor, a special issue of New German Critique on contemporary German literature (2003). His articles have appeared in The German Quarterly, Monatshefte, Literatur für Leser, German Life and Letters and the volume Museums & Difference. His current projects are a book on the secret history to the highly controversial exhibition of human corpses known as “Body Worlds,” biopolitics in Thor Kunkel’s Endstufe, and the paradoxes of German identity in the wake of EU integration.
