Maurice Williams (PhD Texas Christian) is a Professor and Faculty member in the Department of History at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus. His research interest comprise: Modern Europe; Germany and Austria; National Socialism in Central Europe; and the Kettle Valley Railway in the Okanagan Valley. Presently, he is undertaking several research projects relating to National Socialism, entitled: PROPAGANDA IN THE THIRD REICH: THE VIEW OF A NAZI GAULEITER (which is an extension of his biography on Friedrich Rainer); and SS-STANDARTE KURT EGGERS [Third Reich war correspondents and propagandist] (which focuses on the propaganda activities of an SS unit in the Operation Zone Adriatic Littoral in southeastern Europe. Also of note, Dr. Williams won the UBC Okanagan Award for Teaching Excellence and Innovation (2009), and he was also nominated for 2009 UBC Okanagan Award for Excellence in Research.
