Christoph Lorey (PhD Alberta) is Professor of German in the Department of Culture and Language Studies, at the University of New Brunswick. A scholar with wide-ranging interests in German Studies, Culture Studies, Linguistics, World Literature and Interdisciplinary Studies and long-time editor of The International Fiction Review, Dr Lorey has published books, articles, encyclopedia entries, and reviews on numerous German/European writers [a.o. Hartmann, Lessing, Goethe, Büchner, von Platen, Stifter, Gide, Greve/Grove, Hermlin, Brecht, Weihrauch, Winsloe] and cultural themes [family, history of marriage, early German gay and lesbian writers, legacy of the Holocaust]. He has co-edited volumes on Queer Theory, Culture and Film as well as on German Material and Popular Culture. Dr. Lorey has also co-edited a Festschrift focusing on J.W. Goethe and one on Intercultural Language Learning. He is co-author of a textbook on Reading German. As editor of The International Fiction Review, Dr. Lorey brought over 800 refereed articles and reviews on and by international writers to publication. He currently works on a translation of Toni Cassierer's memoir, and researches the present-day coming of age of an intersex identity in Germany and western Europe.
