Erol Boran interests are contemporary German literature and culture, in particular minority studies and Turkish-German theatre. Additional areas of interest are drama in education and student theatre productions. MA from the University of Würzburg in 1996 (thesis: Conceptualizations of the Postmodern Anglo-American Vampire Novel); PhD from Ohio State University in 2004 (dissertation: History of Turkish-German Theater and Political Cabaret); Taught language, literature and theatre courses at international universities, e.g. Freie Universität Berlin, Ohio State University, University of New Mexico, University of Texas and also at institutions such as the Goethe-Institute at Thessaloniki.
