Jean Snook has taught German at Memorial University since 1984, and has been editor of the CAUTG Bulletin and Directory since 1998.

In 2009, she won the inaugural Austrian Cultural Forum Translation Prize for her translation of Gert Jonke’s Der ferne Klang, to be published by Dalkey Archive Press in 2010 as The Distant Sound.  

Dr. Snook has written over 75 essays on German literature.
